The Vicarage is a splendid house boasting nine exquisitely appointed double premium rooms, each featuring an en-suite bathroom. The property is complemented by a magnificent garden, a charming courtyard, a well-stocked wine cellar, and a spacious barn perfectly suited for hosting special events.

Operating The Vicarage is our friend Roland Birr, renowned for his culinary prowess under the banner of "The Fifth Quarter." With an international reputation as a food and wine expert, Roland Birr brings over 30 years of experience in hosting culinary events across the globe, from Germany to the US, Sydney, and Beijing. His passion for the culinary world, coupled with his profound knowledge as a trained oenologist, ensures that his presentations are captivating, accessible, and immensely enjoyable for food and wine enthusiasts of all backgrounds and experiences.

Cooking School by Jonas Schäfer

In 2024 we will open The Cooking School by Jonas Schäfer, located within the barn of this historic vicarage. The dedicated space will offer great conditions for exploring the intricacies of food, spices, wines, and culinary techniques.

Operating under the "By Jonas Schäfer" brand, Chef Jonas will lead the cooking school. Additionally, we have curated an impressive lineup of renowned chefs from around the world to share their expertise through a diverse range of meticulously crafted courses.

The Cooking School by Jonas Schäfer aims to be a special destination for learning, inspiration, and unforgettable experiences.

Agile Cook

Elena Bucur, mom and agile marketing facilitator, moved to the village of Cund with her Dutch husband during the Covid 19 pandemic. She blends business and food, bringing fresh perspectives on marketing.

Her workshops and consultancy empower entrepreneurs, marketers, and managers to cook up their success recipes. If you’re one of them, looking into redefining norms and crafting unforgettable experiences, check what she’s doing! She will help you build connections with authentic communication!

Manufactura de Branză Artisan cheese

Local entrepreneur Istvan Varga is the founder of this wonderful artisan cheese making workshop. Istvan produce a huge variety of cheeses from the milk of their own family run dairy farm. The cows are fed only with hay or fresh grass from the vast Transzlvanian pastures and are kept in excellent conditions.

Istvan and his team also offer tastings for larger groups and you can sample and buy his products in the little shop in the village square. In summer time Istvan also operates a great small food stall in the center selling Hungarian beer, crepes, ice cream and other treats!

Donkey Farm

Austrian self-sufficient farmer Christian Harfmann moved in the late 2000s to Cund and is running some guesthouses as well as passionately hosting very special hiking experiences with his donkeys!

If Christian has surplus produce from his gardens and orchard one can also buy some delicious local products made by him.

Fruit & Vegetable Farm

Located at the northern edge of the village, you will find the Varga family comprising Anushka, Corci, Edomer, and Alpar. Together, they are deeply committed to their agricultural endeavors, raising cattle and cultivating crops of wheat and corn. In addition to their farming pursuits, the Varga family takes pride in maintaining a couple of expansive greenhouses nestled within their lush gardens.

The fruits of their labor are nothing short of delicious, as they primarily focus on organic farming practices. Anushka, Corci, Edomer, and Alpar work closely together, fostering a strong sense of cooperation throughout the growing season. Their dedication and hard work ensure a bountiful harvest of nutritious greens and delectable fruits - many eventually make their way onto your plate.

Wood Workshop

Istvan Torok is the Hungarian joiner and passionate craftsman behind all the wooden furniture found within the Valea Verde complex. With great dedication and skill, Istvan meticulously handcrafts each piece in the small workshop.

If you ever find yourself curious about the man behind these creations, Istvan is more than delighted to welcome visitors and share some of his craftsmanship with those who are interested. Witnessing his passion and techniques firsthand is a truly inspiring experience.

The furniture adorning the Valea Verde complex is not only a testament to Istvan's talent but also adds a touch of charm and unique local flair to the entire ambiance. Each piece tells a story and a labor of love, perfectly complementing the natural beauty of the surroundings.
